anyone know, how can I go fast forward in a video (mpeg)?

To go fast forward in a video, keep the 'next' >>| button pressed.

First iteration is 4x
Second iteration is 32x
Third iteration is 'play' (pressing 'play' > also works, of course).

This fast forward will not have video feedback (technical limitation, hard to do over the network).

It works all right, but after I have don a fast forward the file will not play smoothly anymore, but much more choppy (like it can not keep up with the framerate)
