I'm thinking about buying a streamium package, but sadly the product site gives me no real useful information.

WHAT I WANNA DO:
I want to be woken up at 6:50 in the morning to the Mammas and Pappas, Calafornia Dreaming in my bedroom. It will take me sometime to wake up, so perhaps another tune will follow. Then I will stagger to the bathroom, and have some uplifting house playing while I shower to get me going in the morning. Once I have finished shaving, i want to stroll back to my bedroom. The next person in the shower may want to hear some funky grooves while they are bathing - so the music will have to keep on keeping on in the bathroom.

As I dress, perhaps I can be listening to some Lennon, while the kitchen is playing something more contemporary. As I make it to breakfast, Santana will come on - playing soul sacrifice, live at woodstock. Perhaps we can finish off with some planet funk as I am leaving the house. By the time everyone has left the house at 9am it all turns off, waiting for some Blues to come on when I get home around 9pm.

Can Streamium do this?
-different music playing simultaneously in different rooms
-alarm clock functions, where music is timed to turn on and off

if anyone can let me know - that would be fab

Hi Eumeus ,

One Streamium can only play one song at a time.
But the server can serve many streamiums.
So if you put one box in each room, you will get what you want and make the Philips sales department happy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not sure, but doesn't the Streamium TV have alarm clock functions? Anyone in the know willing to comment?

The AV Streamiums (400, 300, 6000) have no timer/clock, but the audio-only (which it sounds like he wants) 200/250 do have this functionality.

what we need is a good UPnP control point software that has a clock and alarm functions - it should be pretty straight forward to have this software control point tell the streamium to play this song at a certain time - streamium would need to be left on I think, but since the control point software is lagging way behind the servers

>>does anyone know if the Intel tools can do this?

I think this will be a while in coming - but I see in the next year a bunch of UPnP Control Freak software for lights, music - even UPnP control of PVR coming up - get your code finger ready!

Just my 2 Cents - eurotut /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
