A heads-up for children's music lovers from Philips: Playhouse radio music service is currently not working, and there will be more information in the July Streamium newsletter.

Ok...here's the official Philips word:
"Email Notification to Streamium Consumers
Philips and Playhouse Radio has mutually decided to turn off the Playhouse Radio stations from our Streamium devices. Please visit Playhouse Radio (http://www.playhouseradio.com) from your PC to continue to enjoy the songs from kid-oriented categories ranging from educational and travel to dance and activities, including originals and classics."
Sorry, guys.

Hmmm
I'm starting to wish that I hadn't brought the Streamium as the online content is slowly disappearing and the others such as Yahoo videos never seem to be updated.

It's indeed very sad that services are disapearing, it would be great if some alternatives could be added by philips to show that they will keep on the right path. I think the streamium devices are nice, but, still need to be polished.
I also notice that the yahoo and ifilm 'movie-trailers' i.e. are not updated at all.

Look at the current situation: video clips and film trailers not updated on the Internet. Streaming radio services disappearing. Firmware upgrades not available for all devices. Support questions go unanswered or get vague responses like 'will ask the team to look into it'. Bug fixes not available. Major issues with the firmware on all devices in the series. Conclusion: this product is unsupported. I wish Ryan would prove me wrong, but he's gone remarkably quiet.
I agree with Leo (and everyone else that is dissapointed). At least we can still play our own music from our own hard drives. I am just afraid that Philips will abandon the product completely and we will not receive any upgrades in the near future. I am really starting to think I wasted a lot of money. It is unfortunate--I think we have a very good product here, just not very good support.

I think I've given up. I asked Ryan a while ago when the firmware upgrade that is available on the other devices would be available for my LCD TV. The answer was a typical 'I'll ask the team', and not a peep since. Now, call me simple, but that is not a very difficult question to answer, isn't it? Even if it would only be that it will never be available. Somebody in Philips must have some idea, right? The same thing with any future upgrades. What is happening? There must be a plan. Why can't it be shared with the community, in general terms. Hell, I'll volunteer to be a beta tester as long as I can downgrade again. What is most annoying and disturbing is the total lack of communication from Philips. Ryan, please, can't you come up with something concrete instead of empty remarks?
There must be somebody in charge at Philips that reads this forum, I would have thought.

Be glad that Philips at least recognises/promotes their LCD-tv as a Streamium device.
I wish I could say the same for their crippled NOXON-clone. The SLA5500/00 is pretty much hidden on their website. Almost as if they're ashamed of having something that could beat their own SL50i-device

I wish I had some information, but it seems that none is currently forthcoming from the Philips teams. I have repeatedly asked them for comments, and received no information. I will continue to ask. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Trust me, I am as upset as you are, and will do my best to get some answers.
