i have a rc9800 since april and it's the 3rd time i lose everuthing. The remote stops responding and i have to reset it. When it resest it lost everything!!! No back up possible i have to configure it from zero each time. What a bad remote. the principe is good but the program is [censored]. For a thing like this i paid 500€ that's a real sham. No updates available, no program to make a back up!!! What a shame Philips, i will never buy a thing from yr brand again. U get our money but u don't give a good service. I call the call center and they just told me that they don't give any support for this remote. So the only thing i can say to people is to don't buy any Philips [censored] !!!

Hi,
I am affraid you have a hardware problem here. Since with a reset, all data normally is retained. What was the reason the call-center did not want to help you? Which call-center did you contact? You can send the details to homecontrol(at)philips(dot)com. Thanks in advance.

i live in belgium brussels so i called the french call center the woman just give me as answer that they don't follow anymore this remote!!! what a shame!! U said that normally when i made a reset all data has to be kept : it worked when then remote doesn't bloke. As soon as it blocks the only thing i can do is to reset and then it lost all my configuration the only thing the remote keeps is the wireless parameters!! So it's a hardware problem? I hope with all the complains i see on this forum u will finally release a new and good firmwire and why not a good pc programs to add custum buttons cause also on that point the remote is a bit bad : for example no possibility to have a dts button on a home cinema config.

Hi,
Yes, I think there is flash corruption, since normally there is a backup configuration that can be reverted to when something goes wrong during a change of the original configuration file. You should never loose the complete config. Please contact your reseller to send this unit for repair.

It's now more than 1 month that it's back to repair it and still have no news. I am wonderring what people from philips are doing?? Isn't it a private company or maybe it's just an administration???

Hi,
Normally a replacement unit is sent immediately from our repair center. Do you have an RMA number, so that I can check what is wrong?
