Just received my SLM5500 and having difficulty straight away. I hsve connected it to my TV with the RCA cables because both scarts are taken up with SKY + box and Surround Sound system. Don't know what channel to use to see the menu? Any ideas? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I hope you have used 3 x RCA also known as Component.
Component usually only exists at newer LCD/Plasma televisions. The question is what kind of inputs does your TV have?

Yes have used the 3 X RCA component cables.
Have LCD Samsung TV. Sorry to sound idiotic, but what do you mean by what kind of inputs does the TV have?

TV currently connected to SKY + Box, Playstation 2 and a Samsung Digital Home Cinema System. Hence both scart connections already used, so used 3x RCA cables.

Hi,

With inputs I meant what kind of different ways are there to connect video to your television.
Obviously you have 2 x scart. Do you also have component or do you connect 3 x RCA to the Home Cinema System and use that as a "switch"? I have only owned a Samsung LCD for a day so I don't remember how to change input but it should be stated in the manual (I returned it for a Panasonic Plasma).

Component and composite, two completely different things.

If you are assuming the three rca sockets are left/right audio and video and plugging these into the side of your tv then this is the wrong signal type. You need a scart plug that has the three rca plugs on the end on the output side to use the av3/av4 input to your tv.
