I am finally there: everywhere in my house music and (internet) radio and no PC needed (so hopefully fullproof).

As a last step I recently bought a LaCie NAS drive for my record collection. So far the installation of this drive was not too difficult (but it could be easier). I still don't know all the in's and out's of this drive but it works. The Twonky on it works but is a bit limited as compared to the version (4.4) I used on my PC but that will come in due time (I hope).

I don't need a PC now for my music and that I like the most of this setup because my PC crashes on a regular basis (this may be my fault but it is my opinion that a computer should not crash what programs you might use). My computer friends always tell me that the newest computer they bought is a lot more stable (than the old one) but that's what I hear now for twenty years and they still crash on me. I used to work with Unix systems that ran for years without hickups (so I am a Linux fan).

So I think the purchase of the streamiums (SLA5520) and the NAS disk is the my best buy in years. It gives a solid fool proof solution if you want music in many places in your house.

This kept me wondering if a WACS with stations is a better solution: it certainly is visually more pleasing but it is also a lot more expensive and less versatile for other uses (like backup drive and file sharing).

So what do you think??
