There's an old thread on the 7000 forum about streaming to a PS3 - has anyone got it to work from a 3500 direct?

You can see all the artist and album names but the files are all 'unrecognised format' on the PS3.

Anyone got it to work or have any clues?

I would like to know too! It will save me buying another streamium for the lounge if I can play music on the PS3

Hello,

If I were you, I would like to enjoy the convenience of playback my music from a Streamium box, instead of through a PS3, unless you prefer browsing your music via a big TV screen /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Seriously, the issue is still there. The problem is the DLNA way of recognizing the media file formats. It looks like the PS3 is following the rules literarily set by the DLNA standard, while not be able to be back compatible with UPnP devices. You can also confirm that by using some PC based UPnP servers, the PS3 is also not be able to recognize the media files. Though recent PC based UPnP servers are improving over this issue.

And, I believe this issue will be resovled by Philips, or by Sony which I think is best way to do.
