Hi folks,

since I am still stuck with about 8000 tracks, I was wondering, is there a software -maybe wachandler - that does mass-editing of several thousand tracks at a time?
What I'm trying to do, is delete the genres and maybe delete or edit the album name to the artist, so artist and album would be the same, and hopefully saving same database entries?
All this should be done at the mci locally, since I don't want to "mangle" my mp3 collection.

Thanks

Hi !

Although I haven't tested it on "thousands" of tracks, WACHandler lets you multi-select tracks and edit all aspects, except their individual Titles at once. It will take time though for it to write the new info for each track after you click the Ok button ;-)

Cheers !

Hi Tias,

sounds good, do you know if I leave the genre and/or album blank, does that count as a 0 or 1 toward the "allowed" 5000 combined total.

Hi !

It counts like one entry, I even think that it is automatically transformed into "Unknown Genre"/"Unknown Artist", either way, I am rather sure it counts like one entry in the database.
The only way to know for sure is to test it...

Cheers !
